Lamine Yamal was born on 13 July 2007 in Esplugues de Llobregat, Spain. He joined FC Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy at the age of seven after playing for CF La Torreta. His exceptional dribbling, creativity, pace and left-footed finishing helped him progress through Barcelona’s youth teams remarkably quickly.
Yamal made his Barcelona first-team debut in April 2023 against Real Betis at only 15 years, 9 months and 16 days, becoming the youngest player to represent Barcelona in a competitive first-team match. His breakthrough continued during the 2023/24 season, when he became an important part of the senior squad and scored 7 goals in 50 appearances.
His 2024/25 campaign was even more impressive. Playing mainly as a right winger, Yamal scored 18 goals and provided 21 assists for Barcelona. He also became the youngest player to reach 100 appearances for the club and the youngest goalscorer in a Clásico.

Yamal has also made football history with the Spanish national team. He became Spain’s youngest international player and youngest international goalscorer. At UEFA Euro 2024, he became the youngest player ever to appear at the European Championship and helped Spain win the tournament.
At the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Yamal scored his first World Cup goal against Saudi Arabia on 21 June 2026, aged 18 years and 343 days.

Yamal’s current highest single-match scoring record is 3 goals in one game. He achieved this hat-trick for Barcelona against Villarreal in La Liga during the 2025/26 season.
He has also scored several memorable braces. In August 2026, he scored two goals against Rayo Vallecano in Barcelona’s 5–2 victory, reaching his 50th goal for the club during that match. In September 2026, he scored another brace against Levante in a 4–2 Barcelona victory.
